[Cooker] DHCP Client in Mandrake 9.1 RC1

2003-02-25 Thread Phil Green

Is there something that I'm missing or is this I
bug I need to report?

I have a Cisco 675 DSL modem that does NAT and
DHCP. I set up the pool to hand out IP, DNS Servers and Default
Gateway. In the Windows world, everything works fine but in Linux, I get
the IP address and Default Route but no DNS servers. When I do a nslookup
it connects to 127.0.0.1.

Help!

[Cooker] ATI and a Samsung SyncMaster

2001-07-12 Thread Phil Green

I have just installed 8.0 on my new machine that has a ATI DDR Radeon card
and a Samsung SyncMaster 770 TFT monitor. When I try to do a startx or
configure the X Server, my machine locks up and I have to power off. There
isn't anything in /var/log/syslog that tells me what the problem
was/is. Does anyone have any ideas on this??

Does anyone know where/what I can use in Mandrake
to replace the Windows tools that come with these cards? Especially the TV
Tuner and Digital VCR application.

7, Dear Ron, have you tried iso creation in the last few days from
sunsite?
Do you have a proper method for creating cooker isos that work at least
90%
  of the time?

No No. Hve you tried Warly's latest script (day before yesterday,
 here) for Cooker iso creation?

Why is the 2nd ISO image larger than any CDs?
I used the 72beta_mkcd.sh to create the ISOs and the first one is 648MB but the
second one is 749MB!!

Well, did you try to delete all the duplicate packages? That's the first
thing that comes to my mind

 Alexander Skwar

Is there a quick utility for finding out what files might be duplicates? I
did a diff -s on the two directories and it looks like there are now dups???
