That makes sense. The installer picks the wrong ftp daemon to go with
anonftp.

Then this is really wrong... proftpd should depend on nothing,
especially anonftp. And anonftp should depend on wu-ftpd (that's the
only thing it's really useful with).

[Cooker] empty printer list during install

2000-09-16 Thread Robert Haddon

Trying to add a remote LPD printer after selecting CUPS during the
7.2 beta install will result in a blank printer selection list. This
causes the printer installation to fail.

[Cooker] Xig's Accelerated X and 7.2 beta

2000-09-16 Thread Robert Haddon

Program: Xig's Accelerated X server for desktops (AX)
Version: 5.03 (latest)
Details:
I could not get Gnome, sawmill, KDE, or enlightenment to work with AccelX
on 7.2 beta. I got an error message about an unresolved dependency in
ICEsocket. (sorry, I don't have the exact message in front of me). The
only window manager I got to work was mwm.

Proftpd is a package dependency of anonftpd. So good idea or not, you
have no choice.

Oh but I really don't think that installing proftpd and anonftp together
is so good an idea ..

The RPM install configures /etc/proftpd.conf for standalone mode AND
/etc/inetd.conf super-server mode. This, of course, is invalid. It must
be one or the other, but not both.

 Yep. Will fix. :)

 Thanks.

Good work other than that. I'm really enjoying 7.2 so far.
