http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3324 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-15 18:03 --- I have a quite similar problem with my Dell C610 since 3 cooker version of XFree (but with new kernel too, may be the two are conflicting ?). Everything is OK on console, I can switch CRT/LCD/Both with the Dell Function Key (Fn) + F7 When I launch X, Fn + F7 make a little schmurtz on screen, but nothing really happens. The problem is that the CRT screen is keeping the resolution of console, I mean the desktop is bigger than the showed on screen. This was happening even before, but I was switching off/on CRT display to have all the desktop on screen... Also, if LCD was off, at the X start, it goes "gray" ;) like On but no image. I try to load the i8k module as I see in kernel config that it's for Dell laptop (and special keys), but everything was working before, without i8k module. Same problem with i8k module loaded. Also, about ACPI, it is not working well (no battery charge), even after disabled apci, and put in kernel the battery, fan and so on in kernel.
