If it won't be too late, fetch new zh_CN.po from CVS. If it is not possible to

This problem still exists in 9.2rc2. I must install it from CD3 manually.

But, after I installed it, there seems a bug within sysconfig/i18n:
   XIM_PROGRAM=chinput -gb
which should be(quotes required):
   XIM_PROGRAM="chinput -gb"

Such a bug will lead X unable to start automaticly.

But, l10n for different packages are maintained by different groups, such as
KTP, GTP, TP and Mandrake its own cooker-i18n. It might be difficult for the
end users to tell which product they are using.

Anyway, if you would like to set inidividual L10n component, I would be glad
to take the responsibility of zh_CN. I'm participating almost all the l10n
projects.

This bug is a request to add a language component to each product for all

Also a cc to the cooker-i18n list should be sent with a reported l10n-bug, just

It is not enought just BE PRESENT in 9.2 final. Some kde-i18n-* packages are
not being packaged for 3.1.3, even 3.1.2. As the KDE translators have been
contributing their efforts continously, all the kde-i18n-* packages should be
repacked when new minor versions be released.

I've installed 9.2beta2 in zh_CN locale. Thanks for the new bootsplash.

But, when I press F2 to see the detail log, the letters became unreadable. I
think the new bootsplash are fully drawn in graphic mode, so there is no problem

For the same reason, text console in 9.2beta2 is not in REAL text. When I enter
console(not emulator) with Ctrl-Alt-Fn, the messages output of GNU tools become
unreadable. That is because that, many GNU packages have been translated into
Chinese, but MDK console cannot display Chinese.

zhcon might help, which can be found at: http://zhcon.sourceforge.net/

I'm afraid that the main reason is that the version in cooker is so old. The
latest version of miniChinput is 0.1.9.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/minichinput

miniChinput 0.1.9 works perfectly in 9.2. The ONLY setting needed is change IME
style to "over the spot" in qtconfig, otherwise you cannot use it in KDE
applications.

The Chinese font rendered by xft2 is so ugly in its default status. So, a
Chinese programmer Firefly made his own patch to render Chinese font in a more
acceptable quality.

Look here:
http://firefly.idv.tw/setfont-xft/patches/freetype/

Please note that the patches to xft2/fontconfig is also need to beautify the CJK
fonts, which can be found in:

Correct one

I've run `locale` command, and found the date_fmt should be corrected. That is
because the current one include both date and time in its format. The other two
need some tweaks, too.

So, if it possible, please correct them with the attachment(Plaintext/UTF8
encoding).

Thanx.

When copying CDs, I clicked "Details" button to see the packages being
installed, and the button's caption comes to "No details". The installation
program will install some more packages(such as autologin, etc.) after section
"Installing packages" respectively. Then, the progress which appears when
installing such packages, will remain the status of showing names and
descriptions of the packages(Detail mode).

But, the button's caption is still "Detail". Should it be "No details"? I mean,
the button's caption should be decided dynamclly according to the materials
showing on the screen.

I've installed 9.1 and 9.2beta1. Both of them have a fatal error when install
bootloader.

Before the SUMMARY section of the installation, there is a step called
"Installing bootloader". The installtion program is always modifying the mbr of
/dev/hda.

If I want to install lilo/grub to /dev/hdb, with later adjustment in Summary
section, the installaion program will do as what I need. BUT, the mbr of
/dev/hda was already modified, while the orginal bootloader(lilo/grub/windows
loader) has been destroyed.

See URL for problem description - mdkkdm apparently isn't localized in a number

Releasing 9.1 with a halfway localized default desktop manager would not only

I can't, either.

I'm using a USB1.1 Harddisk. In 9.0, it can be loaded easily(sda1) from mount
point configuration tool. But in 9.1, I cannot find it through the same tool.

I've tried 'mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/disk/' at console, but it says that /dev/sda1
is not a valid device.

It seems that only ASCII/ISO-8851-1 characters could be displayed during

I've installed 9.1RC1 with zh_CN locale selected. When I boot up with Linux,
all the starting up messages are displayed as ???.

So, if only ASCII characters could be displayed at startup stage, it is
important to inform l10n team that Chinese/Japanese should not be translated
for init-scripts related messages.

I've installed MDK9.1RC1 with zh_CN locale. The default font that come with it
is Zhongyi-gb18030. But such a font isn't included in any package of
Mandrake9.1rc1.

If the font would not be inlcluded in the final stable version, please change
it into previous font, like Songti or fangsong ti.
