>besides local files (ie NIS, LDAP, winbind) for authentication?

I don't have any other printers.
I don't use NIS, LDAP or winbind (I think), just have set the user/group and password
for the
windows printer share, because it's use is restricted by the password (only people who
know the pass
print).

The same printer, with the same configuration worked fine in Mandrake 9.0, I just
installed it (no
upgrade, new install) the same way in 9.1 but it gives me those crashes.

Anyway, I love CUPS, so I think it's better to wait mandrake guys fix this instead of
using lpr ;)

Still there, still there and still there. :)
Anyway, still there in mandrake 9.1.

This big/wish is acctually easy to fix, just place a "custom" or "find" option for
choosing a icon file
instead of getting from a list.
I do not want to be rude, but replacing kmenuedit for a program that is worse than it
isn't a smart
thing. Why not hack kmenuedit to it support mandrake menu system? Would be much
better.

I see no way in MenuDrake to select locally-installed icons
( e.g. in /usr/local, or in a user's home directory ).

There should be a way to set a non-system search path
for icons.

Similar problem with a smb on windows printer, just that the programs crash instead of
hanging.
