[Cooker] [Bug 3347] [drakxtools] ATI RADEON 9700
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3347 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-06-09 16:50 --- Just checked with 9.2-beta 2 Although the installation process says not configured for graphics at the summary page, it warned me of this and when I chose to configure it, the radeon driver was selected which seemed to work fine. Would seem then to be fixed. -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEW creation_date: description: During Installation, my ATI radeon 9700 is recognized as a RADEON card. When testing, the computer doesn't seems to send any signal to my screen (dell 1800 FP digital). No luck with pressing ALT-F1 or any other terminal, no more luck with CTRL-ALT-BCKSPACE. I had to restart computer manually CTRL-ALT-DEL did not work neither. I don't think the PC hung because the numlock led was still responding. On reboot, the X11 did try to start but leaving me with a no-signal screen. But then, I could switch to another terminal (ALT-F2)

[Cooker] 2.4.1-16mdk broken for Athlon/K7 modules?
(Please excuse if you got dupes on this mail, it would be at this end.) Mostly a heads up mail, before I start digging. Is it a know problem (locally or to 2.4.1) that I get bunk modules when building 2.4.1(-16mdk)? (bunk == depmod explodes with unresolved symbols) make mrproper; make menuconfig (no changes made); make dep; make bzImage; make modules; make modules_install If this isn't normal or known, I'll send *much* more debugging info. Just wanted to check before I dig and send an inordinate amount of debugging info. Oh, /usr/bin/gcc - /usr/bin/kgcc and cooker is up to date as of yesterday...18 Feb 01 -Rob

Re: [cooker] [owner-cooker@linux-mandrake.com] BOUNCE cooker@linux-mandrake.com: Non-member submission from [root dgill@speedchoice.com]
How the heck did Chmouel show up as the the sender of this email? These are my words!!! Normally, I would feel violated, but i think it had something to do with da stinkin listserver David, ( The Original Sender) Gill - Original Message - From: Chmouel Boudjnah [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Cooker [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, January 18, 2000 6:08 PM Subject: [cooker] [[EMAIL PROTECTED]] BOUNCE [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Non-member submission from [root [EMAIL PROTECTED]] First of all, my hat is off to the folks that incorporated the SB Live! module in the sndconfig- it works pretty well! A minor issue, you would think, but it has been one of my pet peeves Now for the thangs thet aint wurkin! (KDE) 1. Sound mixer volume controls work sporadically, or not at all. Default volume settings almost blew me out of the the sturdy plastic chair I sit in (only the best), and earned me a stern lecture from the wife...nah, dont ask. 2.. Several of the subdirectories in /mnt , floppy and cdrom are "locked"; in other words, I don't have permission to access those directories even as root. I tried some things; I accessed Linuxconf, created a new mount points using /mnt/cdrom3 ( I have two CDROM drives, one a writer) for partition /mnt/cdrom, and it promptly locked the new folder! So the net effect is that I cannot access one of my CDROM drives, and it would be the CD writer that I was excited about testing under Linux... 3. Still getting a 1192 K file labeled "core" in the /root directory; KFM lists this as a core dump file. I thought I had solved the issue ( and the mysterious freezing thing, too) by checking my BIOS settings and turning off the option "Use PlugNPray OS?". I have not had a system lockup so far, but there sits the core file...? Well that should be do for starters- any ideas or fixes --Chmouel
[Cooker] Format for reporting bugs/requesting fixes??
Downloaded Mandrake 7.0 Air, installed it on two different machines here at home. I am running into some interesting bugs... What is the usual format for this kind of dialogue- do you guys need some system info, hardware config before i report what wrinkles i have been running into??? A relative newbie here; I have only been using Linux for just over a year. I started out with Red Hat 5.2, switched over to Mandrake (Venus) and had been using Helios until recently. So- where would you like me to start???
