[Cooker] [Bug 2910] [lilo] No bootloader after install (Mdk9.1RC2)
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2910 [EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution||WORKSFORME --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-18 20:01 --- OK... I think its due to incorrect lilo.conf settings. After refering lilo.conf man pages, I added these two lines in the lilo.conf that fixed the problem. disk=/dev/hde bios=0x80 disk=/dev/hda bios=0x81 (Note that the default lilo.conf installed by setup had 0x81 for /dev/hde). --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: RESOLVED creation_date: description: Hi, I did a upgrade from 9.0 to 9.1 RC2. During Boot Install stage, I selected Advanced and checked create boot disk clean /tmp on reboot. I left the default Graphical LILO option on /dev/fd0. It created the boot disk, but I was not prompted for a LILO disk. (At this point my USB mouse froze.. I 'll open another bug report separately for that). At the Summary stage, I selected Boot options and created a boot disk. (with linux, oldlinux Windows). The install seem to go very slow at this point (it took couple of minutes to refresh each screen and my mouse isn't working). The install completed successefully though. However when I tried booting with my LILO disk or the boot disk all I got was L 99 99 99 (yes by boot disk also gave me the L 99 ...s). Thanks for your attention. nram (Ramesh Natarajan )
[Cooker] [Bug 3442] [kdebase] New: Empty Restart menu
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3442 Product: kdebase Component: program Summary: Empty Restart menu Version: 3.1-83mdk Platform: PC OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] From kdm the menu for Restart is empty. I think it used to have options to restart to each of the lilo boot options. The other menu option from kdm, halt is functional. (This mean the only way out of Mdk 9.1 RC2 is to halt the system) --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

With Lilo Graphical Text I got L 99 99 99 With Grub disk I got GRUB nothing The boot disk creation took for ever. After about 10 minunes I reset the machine. While trying with the boot disk, I got the following message Couldnot find kernel image linuz (I could boot with vmlinuz root=/dev/hda1) --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: Hi, I did a upgrade from 9.0 to 9.1 RC2. [Cooker] [Bug 2912] [Installation] USB Mouse freezing during install
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2912 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-08 13:06 --- I did another upgrade (RC2 on top of RC2) since I had other issues with boot loader. This time I tried with Serial PS/2. I got the mouse selection screen. The install had no problems with mouse. --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: Hi, I upgraded 9.0 to 9.1 RC2. With 9.0 I had a serial mouse (USB mouse with a USB-Serial adapter). When I tried the Upgrade process with the serial mouse I got the Lang Selection section followed by Mouse selection screen. At this point I decided to try the mouse as USB. I aborted the install, swapted the cable for mouse and restarted the install. The install froze after Licence screen (I selected Yes ofcourse). The whole install froze (no keyboard either) I wanted to give it another shot and power cycled the machine. This time it went past License screen, but no Mouse selection screen was presented. The install went quite well. At the end during boot loader install, I selected to make a boot disk (Advanced). After the disk was created the mouse froze again. The keyboard was working though and I completed the install with the KBD. Note: The md5sums of the CDs are good. Thanks for your attention. Thanks, nram (Ramesh Natarajan)
