[Cooker] [Bug 5963] [galaxy-kde-kwin] New: The Galaxy KDE kwin style is broken in RTL locales
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5963 Product: galaxy-kde-kwin Component: galaxy-kde-kwin Summary: The Galaxy KDE kwin style is broken in RTL locales Product: galaxy-kde-kwin Version: 0.9.4-14mdk Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: galaxy-kde-kwin AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] When used in RTL locales, the title is properly aligned to the right of the title bar, but the buttons also appear on the right (should be by default on the left) at the same location they occupy in LTR locales. as a result the button overwrite the displayed title and mess it up. in addition, on very short titles (less then 10 characters or so), the title's background graphic is too short to cover a missing chunk in the faded title background and as a result a section of the title bar isn't drawn which doesn't look nice and results in ugly no redraw artifacts when other windows are moved accross it. -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
[Cooker] [Bug 2676] [XFree86] not possible to switch keyboard groups
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2676 [EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution||WORKSFORME --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-22 03:16 --- current keyboarddrake from the latest drakxtools package solves this problem by correctly setting up the keyboard section of XFree86 4.3. it has to be noted in documetation and on-line help that KDE's keyboard layout configuration module should not be used for configuring X's keyboard layout, or maybe even removing the link to it from KContol and the KDE menu. Aside from the last note I do consider this issue resolved - thanks :-) --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: RESOLVED creation_date: description: in XFree86 version 4.3 (unlike 4.2), when choosing a keyboard layout with more then one keyboard group, it is not possible to switch groups. hence, after choosing the Israeli keyboard layout I am unable to type english (which is available as an extra group in the Israeli layout). also, if choosing any keyboard variant other then 'generic101', XFree86 gets stuck in the last keyboard layout chosen and its impossible to even switch keyboard layouts. This makes XFree86 4.3 unusable to anyone who needs non latin input methods.
[Cooker] [Bug 2676] [XFree86] not possible to switch keyboard groups
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2676 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-20 14:57 --- Apparently its caused by a change in how keyboard layouts are handled in XFree86 4.3 - the israeli layout now contains only the hebrew group and in order to switch between group you need to enable multiple keyboard layouts at the same time. That way you don't need to mess around with keyboard layouts and don't really need kikbd - you configure X to use all your keyboard layouts and just switch groups. this way you lose the ability to have different keyboard layouts at the same time (for example : US+IL , US+RU and IL+FR and switch between them), but you get easier configuration w/o composing your own keyboard layouts when you want to use more then one non-US language. The relevant setxkbmap command line to enable both US and IL at the same time is setxkbmap -option grp:switch,grp:shift_toggle,grp_led:scroll us,il I'm not sure how the Kcontrol module should be changed to support that though I'm pretty sure it requires a UI change and is outside the scope of this bug. A simple solution, IMO, would be to change the Mandrake configuration tools to setup XF86Config-4 with the XkbLayout option with all the configured languages, for example (for hebrew) : Section InputDevice Identifier Keyboard1 Driver Keyboard Option XkbLayout us,il EndSection Good luck --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: in XFree86 version 4.3 (unlike 4.2), when choosing a keyboard layout with more then one keyboard group, it is not possible to switch groups. hence, after choosing the Israeli keyboard layout I am unable to type english (which is available as an extra group in the Israeli layout). also, if choosing any keyboard variant other then 'generic101', XFree86 gets stuck in the last keyboard layout chosen and its impossible to even switch keyboard layouts. [Cooker] [Bug 2676] [XFree86] not possible to switch keyboard groups
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2676 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-13 18:37 --- using XFree86-4.3-5mdk it still doesn't work. I can get my keyboard unstuck by setting the 'primary variant' the KContorl keyboard layout module to 'basic', so now I can type english even when keyboard layouts are enabled by switching keyboard layouts with the mouse (clicking kxkbd tray control. using CTRL-ALT-K keyboard shortcut is not really convinient and its only available while I'm on the english layout - while in israeli layout the same keyboard sequence generates CTRL-ALT-LAMED). This is still not ok, as its a major feature-loss since in 4.2 I could change groups using keyboard shortcuts, and with 4.3 it doesn't work no matter what I set in KControl. --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. [Cooker] [Bug 1315] [Installation] DrakX tries and fails to format NTFS partition.
https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1315 [EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution||FIXED --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-24 19:43 --- Yep - the RC1 resizes NTFS properly and don't reformat it, so now my test case works. thanks. --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: RESOLVED creation_date: description: When installing on a computer with an existing NTFS partition, DiskDrake allows me to resize the NTFS partition , but when continuing it tries to format the partition to NTFS , fails to do that (don't know how to format to NTFS) and then returns to the previous screen with the disk partitioning options (use entire disk, use existing partitions, etc'). the only way I found to continue the installation was to remove the NTFS partition entirely. I haven't checked what happens if I don't do anything to the existing NTFS partition and install to a different disk or an empty space on the same drive (I don't have any of those)
