This causes fonts to have a different size between GTK1 and GTK2 apps. i.e. specifying a font of 12pts will use the X res (usually 75 or 100) for GTK1, but GTK2 (which use Xft) will render at 90dpi. https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2311 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-24 19:58 --- I've rechecked the bookmarklets and found a way to remove them via the bookmarks menu (intelligent bookmarks -> remove check from make as toolbar) So at least the display is a bit larger again. So I mainly terribly miss the quick possibility to check on/off javascript... [Cooker] [Bug 2176] [galeon] Galeon problem: No plugins working (RC1)
https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2176 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-24 17:33 --- I have not put them there. They were installed by mozplugger and the free shockwave plugin swfdec into this directory. Reinhard --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: When starting galeon (Gnome2.2 Environment), and typing about:plugin I get only the nullplugin. I have checked out the library pathes and found out that galeon only searches in /usr/lib/mozilla-1.3b/plugins but not in the directory /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins! After renaming and copying the plugins and creating a link, the plugins are there and just work fine (tested flash and mplayer). Reinhard
[Cooker] [Bug 2311] [galeon] Galeon 1.3.2 usability in RC1
https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2311 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-24 17:45 --- Next time I express myself better... Next time I.. ;-) Ok, with themes I mean the themes of the toolbar (Werkzeugleiste) You can download them from galeon.sf.net and put them in a themes directory either system wide or in your home (~/.galeon). GTK2 themes of course work (because Mandrake theme already is a GTK2 theme :-) The last line of the edit menu let's me change the buttons in the toolbar but not the theme itself :( I'll try to delete bookmarklets menu with right button / menu (though I think I tried this) this evening. I had never problems with the download manager on galeon... maybe I used not the one you used (I did not change from the original 9.0 config with the old galeon regarding the download manager) Reinhard --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: Hi, I have several problems with the current galeon version compared to the version included with Mandrake 9.0 (german version): - themes do not work at all - several menus are missing (f.e. the very useful preferences menu) - there is much less space for the browser itself (with themes that could be partially solved) - there seems to be no way to remove the bookmarklets If you don't want to have galeon to be a showstopper, I'd very much recommand to switch back to the current stable (1.2.8) version on http://galeon.sf.net and not use the development version for the coming 9.1 release (I did not find one single advantage of the current development version compared to old stable one) Regards, Reinhard
[Cooker] [Bug 2237] [pcmcia-cs-x11] Pcmcia hangs on startup (RC1)
https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2237 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-24 08:05 --- On my system I did not directly see a freeze but an extremely slowdown of the startup (after 5-10 Minutes two additionally services were started). I don't think there was much disk activity and I don't think that has something to do with the /tmp-clear check (which I have enabled as well, but I did this also on my 9.0 system). [Cooker] [Bug 2313] [XFree86] New: Xft DPI setting (GTK1 problems with font sizes)
https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2313 Product: XFree86 Component: program Summary: Xft DPI setting (GTK1 problems with font sizes) Version: 4.3-0.20030218.1mdk Platform: PC OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: P2 AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I wanted to have this as a bug as well, so it doesn't get lost in the cooker Nirvana ;-). Quote from Craig Drummond : I'm not sure if this applies to Cooker, but it does to mandrake 9.0: Why is the Xft dpi setting hard-coded to 90dpi in /etc/X11/Xresources and /etc/X11/xdm/Xresource? This causes fonts to have a different size between GTK1 and GTK2 apps. i.e. specifying a font of 12pts will use the X res (usually 75 or 100) for GTK1, but GTK2 (which use Xft) will render at 90dpi. Why not just start X at 90dpi in /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers by passing --dpi 90. This way *all* apps would be using the same resolution. Craig. I can confirm this problem. I haven't found any way, how I could actually change font sizes for gtk1 apps (except of cource .gtkrc file, but there seems to be no helper program to do this, and I don't know the config entries...) Some kde apps seems to have this problem as well. The problem: the above solution only applied to xdm, gdm could be similary patched (/etc/X11/gdm.conf) and kdm/mdkkdm (/usr/share/config/kdm/Xservers). I just saw on the brahms sourceforge home page that there was a new snapshot available for Alsa 0.9: http://brahms.sourceforge.net/download/Brahms_2002.10.13.tar.bz2 Due to the limited bandwith here I did not download it yet.
