http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1394 [EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What|Removed |Added Status|ASSIGNED|RESOLVED Resolution||DUPLICATE --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-27 17:36 --- *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 3020 *** --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: RESOLVED creation_date: description: just after the install mandrake 9.1beta3, I run localedrake, and choose "France (UTF-8)" (I choose it at the beginning of the install, thanks the "advance" button). I see several problem : 1)During the boot, the messages are not displayed correctly : for example, instead of "Amorçage", I see "Amorçage" (seems like the utf-8 message is displayed like an ascii message, or an iso-8859-1 message) 2)In console mode, my french keyboard works perfectly when I'm not still logged. But, after logging, I can't use deadkeys and can't type letters like é, à or ç for example. (the keyboard seems ok in X) 3)in the X loggin window, if I try to halt or reboot, I obtain : The system is going down for system halt NOW! INIT: Switching to runlevel: 0 INIT: Sending processes the TERM signal ;2R ... and nothing ! I must press enter, and then type manually "halt" or "reboot". P.S : for information, if I'am interested in utf-8, it's because I want to use simultenaously french and esperanto, but that's an another story ;)

I've found that I can backspace over the ";2R" and > hit enter. A new prompt will come up sometimes; other times, I can hit enter > several times and it starts up the shutdown process. Further info: I get this problem as well when I have a session open in a virtual console and issue a shutdown/restart from GNOME. I can delete the ";2R", use control-D to logout, hit enter a couple of times -- and *then* the machine starts shutting down. --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: ASSIGNED creation_date: description: just after the install mandrake 9.1beta3, I run localedrake, and choose "France (UTF-8)" (I choose it at the beginning of the install, thanks the "advance" button). http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1394 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-03 13:42 --- Pour le troisième bug : il me faut distinguer deux cas : - vouloir arrêter à partir du panneau sous X : plus de problème. - vouloir arrêter en faisant un «halt» dans une console : toujours le même résultat. À noter que je n'ai pas encore testé initscripts-7.06-8mdk (j'ai une 9.1rc1 «de base») --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. A noter cependant que la composition d'accents ne fonctionnera pas (c'est une limitation du noyau). Actually, **the messages during the start-up aren't displayed correctly**. But, after the startup, in console mode, if I make a "ls" for example in a repertory wich contain files with "french" name, there's no problem. If I tried the LatArCyrHeb-14 option, there are no changes. --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: just after the install mandrake 9.1beta3, I run localedrake, and choose "France (UTF-8)" (I choose it at the beginning of the install, thanks the "advance" button). https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1394 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-12 00:41 --- To fix the first bug, (bad fonts in console), you just have to add SYSFONT=LatArCyrHeb-14 in /etc/sysconfig/i18n localedrake should do this job when choosing utf8.
