description:
I have a MS wireless optical Explorer on USB.

During the installation the mouse works fine, no problems. After the last
reboot, when the login-screen (KDE) appears, the mouse pointer will only move
up and down.

My workaround is: login as root an type the following "/sbin/rmmod usbmouse"

After this the mouse works correctly.

I have a Genius (KYE) PowerScroll mouse. My permanent workaround is to find the
usbmouse.o.gz in /lib/modules and delete it.
