https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2048 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-24 23:34 --- I hadn't thought so, but I also have 1024M of RAM. It is interesting to note that the three of us have systems with a large amount of memory (1024M or more) and the Gforce Ti series of video cards. Could it be an issue with the combination of the install kernel, large amount of memory, and the Gforce Ti series of cards? For me the nv driver works fine (if slowly) once the system is installed, even with the standard (small memory) kernel. Some issue of memory mapping in the install kernel? --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: It appears the installation code does not recognize the video card, an Nvidia Gforce 4 Ti4200 properly. https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2048 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-24 22:44 --- Is bug #2324 related to this one (same behaviour (blinking keyboard leds) with a Ti4600) ? I note that I have 1024M of RAM, too, maybe would I not have had these problems with less memory (?). --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: It appears the installation code does not recognize the video card, an Nvidia Gforce 4 Ti4200 properly. https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2048 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-23 06:53 --- I can run the install as vga16. This obviously not something a new user should have to do, since that option is not even listed when you hit F1, and it would give a bad impression. The Gforce 4 Ti series is a very common card now for people who play games on their computers. --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: It appears the installation code does not recognize the video card, an Nvidia Gforce 4 Ti4200 properly. https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2048 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-22 21:13 --- Here is my computer configuration. I don't have time right now to try a vga16 install, but will report how that works later. My real worry is about a newbie getting a copy of Mandrake and being unhappy about this, or a reviewer having this problem. https://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2048 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-22 16:34 --- I had the same behaviour while installing Mandrake 9.0. Blank screen and two keyboard leds blinking (not sure, but I think it was NumLock and ScrollLock). I installed with text-mode, and then installed drivers specified in comment #2 . (I had to keep Option "NvAgp" "0" in XF86Config-4 while using nVidia drivers, but that's an other problem). At the moment you have 2 solution: a) Install your card as a vesa generic b) use the nvidia original driver (nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx) I finally reach to compile both for rc1; if you like I could send them to you.
