The snd-ali5451 ALSA driver works fine, as usual. BTW, I hope you will make it
wrt to ML 9.2 final, because after I installed ML 9.2 RC2 I was greeted by a
*terrible* screeching sound due to the wrong module being used.

could you give us the result of the following commands:
lspcidrake -v
/sbin/lsmod

does it works better if you switch from trident OSS driver to the snd-ali5451
ALSA driver in draksound ?
