Zip expects an archive name as the first argument, to which it then appends .zip. Giving it a url (e.g., './Documents' as opposed to Documents) causes it to fail with: zip error: Zip file structure invalid (./.Documents) Changing Exec=zip -r %u %u to Exec=zip -r %u.zip %u solves the problem.
