http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3589 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-28 21:00 --- The onboard networkcard based on the nvidia chipset requires the nvnet driver to work. This driver makes use of a binary module, with an incompatible license and can thus not be included in the distribution. You may want to check out this page: http://www.petitiononline.com/nforce2/ and fill in the petition. http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3589 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-29 00:00 --- The nvnet driver is already available. I don't know where, but I guess www.nvidia.com is a good place to look :). The point is that we can't include it in Mandrake because it's not free software. So you have to download it yourself. --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: I, my name is Luis and i have problems when i try to conf my network card, i have the Mandrake 9.1 RC3 that i think is the final, my motherboard is an Asus A7N8X whit on board Network based on the nforce2 chipset. when i try to autodetect he find the device but next it prompt again to choose the conection type, and goes on a circle... i have a cable modem conected to the network card... It can't be included in the download version because of licensing issues. You would have to ask Mandrake if it would be included in a boxed set. They include a number of binary drivers, like the NVidia video card drivers, on the extra CDs in the boxed sets, and typically install the correct ones automatically. I'm guessing that it would be there.
