Closed as INVALID, based on reporter comment..

Reopen if you are able to reproduce it at 100%..

I am getting mozilla and galeon crashes quite frequently. At first, I thought it
might be the flash plugin, or the Java plugin. But some of the pages work in
Galeon if the zoom setting is left at 100%.

It is easier to reproduce in Galeon if I increase the zoom to 120%. This happens
consistently on certain pages (try some on LinuxToday.com).

I don't understand why this is hapenning. Could it be that I have an old library
somewhere and that a dependency is missing? Could it be a corrupt library?
Anyone else having problems like this?

No I don't have any Windows Fonts installed.

Wierd. Last night I force-reinstalled a load of packages that contain libraries.
I switched from serif to sans serif and then back to serif again. Unchecked
"always use these fonts" and it now works fine.

I will test this for a while, but think this bug can be closed off now. Still,
it is very strange.

2003-04-02 Thread Diego Iastrubni
talking about bad mozilla/galeon behaviour:

i load mozilla/galeon and I get a spike of 80% cpu for about 40 secs. Then it
continues running at about 20% cpu. Most of those problems happens when for
example I try to type a letter in the addres line.

Reporter, are you using "imported" fonts from Windows, by any chance ?

Could you try removing them, to see if it fixes the crash ?

The complete story comes fine here. galeon-1.3.3-2mdk

What are your font settings in Galeon Preferences?

Mine are:

Language Encoding: Western Size 13
Proportional: Sans Serif
Serif: adobe-times-iso8859-1
Sans serif: Arial
Monospace: adobe-courier-iso8859-1 Size 12

Always use these fonts is unchecked, Minimum font size 0, zoom levels
from 10 to 400%

Output from gdb:

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
[Switching to Thread 16384 (LWP 19170)]
0x40ebeba5 in XftLockFace () from /usr/X11R6/lib/libXft.so.2

This would appear to be a fault in one of the libraries in
XFree86-devel-4.3-5mdk.i586.rpm

If I set galeon to always use the specified font, I no longer get the crash, so
I presume it is something to do with a particular font used in the web page.

Yes, easy. Go to xbox crack report on LinuxToday:

http://linuxtoday.com/developer/2003040101826NWEMHW

Then click on "Complete story". Galeon crashes (segmentation fault). I suspect
if nobody else has complained by now, it is a corrupt/old library or something
on my specific installation. Although I would like to know how to fix it.

I've reinstalled galeon and mozilla using the --force option on the rpms from
the oficial 9.1 distro CDs. I'm going to look at the library dependencies now.
