External contributions are not officially supported, of course. I'll try to see
if I can come up with something, if I have time.

I like to try plf and texstar packages (say kde). If they don't work well, I
want to return to mandrake's equivalent packages. This is not supported by
rpmdrake. THe best I could think is either:

1) uninstall kde via the gui, then uncheck plf repository, the reinstall kde.

2) download the packages manually, then rpm --force.

Both ways have serious disadvantages:

-you have to download the older packages again. They should have been kept in
the cache.
-The second way has another disadvantage: it forces you to use the cli.
-The first way forces you to uninstall kde, so you have to use either gnome or
cli.

The main problem seems to be that, if I have kdebase-3.1.4-tex installed,
rpmdrake doesn't show kdebase-3.1.3-mdk. Because it is older I presume.

This also happens if I disable the texstar source!

Maybe you could put an option "allow downgrading" in rpmdrake to show older
packages too?

And a warning "are you sure you want to downgrade kdebase-3.1.4-tex to
kdebase-3.1.3-mdk? The following packages need to be downgraded too: "

The same goes for cooker: if I had the possibility to easily revert to stable
packages, I would try cooker more often.
