I'm afraid that with the new betas I've installed, I can't use one
of
the most used applications (at least on my machines) -- grip.
Whenever I fire it up, it says:
# grip
Error: Unable to initialize [/dev/cdrom]
Yep, there wasn't a /dev/cdrom symlink to my cdrom (in this case
being
/dev/scd0) so I created it.
you're not using devfs?
Still doesn't work. Even *with* the
symlink, it complains. Any thoughts?
i just tested, everything worked out of the box (both in ide and in
scsi
emulation)
It's worked for me out of the box every time - it puts /dev/scd0 as the
CD device during install. Well - not in beta1, but since I install daily
it was gone fast.
the only pb i found is i can't open the tray using grip interface when
there
is no cd-audio
It's always been that way, for me. Annoying, but not overly so.
