Sorry Grégoire, I thought you had an nVIDIA card - the advice comes from
an nVIDIA readme, where DRI is commented in XF86Config and this can cause
pam to give you problems accessing video.

In /etc/security/console.perms, try commenting this line:
=/dev/dri/* /dev/nvidia*

euh kernel-source is 30MB man. and it's source. not binary.

should not be necessary

what about other 3d apps, can't you load them as normal user?

Someone said that for kernel-source, space was tight on the CD. I've
nothing against games, but 1MB is not negligible for a game.

open("/dev/nvidiactl", O_RDWR) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied)
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) ---
+++ killed by SIGSEGV +++

Seems quite understandable. Will try as root.

what is the meaning of "big" ?

there are 330 bigger packages.

[gc@obiwan ~] ls -rlS /RPMS | perl -ne 'print if $ok; $ok = 1 if /csmash/' | wc -l
330

csmash is in the distribution. So no need to be in contrib

[Cooker] Cannon Smash segfaults

2001-09-08 Thread Grégoire Colbert

Hello,

I wanted to know why Cannon Smash" (csmash) was not in contribs (after
all, it's a big game). When I launch it in runlevel 3, I see the
"launcher", I simply click "Start game" (so not fullscreen related bug),
and it segfaults instantly. Am I the only one with this error?
