[Cooker] Kernel 2.2.18 Headers missing?
All: I noticed that there is no kernel22-headers rpm on Cooker. I did a rpm -Uhv kernel22-2.2.18-18mdk.i586.rpm and rpm -Uhv kernel22-source-2.2.18-18mdk.i586.rpm rebooted into runlevel 3 with the 2.2.18 kernel, and tried to compile the latest NVIDIA drivers. The NVdriver module compiled, but when I tried to load it I got the following message: size NVdriver textdata bss dec hex filename 466282 28160 19524 513966 7d7ae NVdriver depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.2.18-18mdk/video/NVdriver /lib/modules/2.2.18-18mdk/video/NVdriver: unresolved symbol tq_immediate_R0da0dc/lib/modules/2.2.18-18mdk/video/NVdriver: unresolved symbol register_chrdev_Rf0a/lib/modules/2.2.18-18mdk/video/NVdriver: unresolved symbol inter_module_get_Rf6/lib/modules/2.2.18-18mdk/video/NVdriver: unresolved symbol /lib/modules/2.2.18-18mdk/video/NVdriver: insmod /lib/modules/2.2.18-18mdk/video/lib/modules/2.2.18-18mdk/video/NVdriver: insmod NVdriver failed make: *** [package-install] Error 255 Has anyone been able to compile the NVIDIA drivers under the 2.2.18 kernel without a kernel headers rpm? Thanks for your help. Best regards, Erwin Prinz, [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [Cooker] Kernel 2.2.18 for mandrake 7.2 ?
I haven't done this but i know there are packages for 2.2.18 in cooker, under the name kernel22. I haven't gotten down to actually trying it out but it seems the logical thing to do when all the 2.2.18 NFS issues are hammered out. Re: [Cooker] Kernel 2.2.18 for mandrake 7.2 ?
Hello: The Mandrake Security 'cookfire' distr uses kernel 2.2.18, albeit compiled for i386. There is a source RPM that you can use to rebuild for your arch. kernel-2.2.18-1mdk.src.rpm can be found on the mirrors that contain 'cookfire' SRPMS(of course). It might work for you-dunno. Check the linux-manmdrake.com download page; cookfire security package locations are at the bottom. Good Luck. rj Linux: Get it. Use it. [Cooker] Kernel 2.2.18 for mandrake 7.2 ?
Hello, I know this is a little off-topic to strict cooker discussions, but I was unable to find if there were RPMs for Mandrake 7.2 to replace the kernel by the latest 2.2.18 version ? Is the only solution to grab the sources from kernel.org, or could I use the 2.2.18 kernel available in cooker for the next mandrake release (won't there be some libc problems or things like that) ? Thanx. Nicolas Pomarede e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] "It said uses Windows 95 or better, so I loaded Linux!" "In a world without walls and fences, who needs windows and gates ?"
