[Cooker] Netscape 4.73 address book problem

2000-06-05 Thread Brian Fleischman

Anyone with similar problem?

I copied (and did an import) over my address book (pab.na2) to the new
Netscape v4.73. I looked at the address book and it is missing alot of
names, etc. The email addresses are there with no names. Also, when I
select a name and click on the To: button (in a new message) the entire
Netscape blows up (gone). What's up here? I've been able to do this
before. Clues? I'm using a SMP machine. BTW, bookmarks worked fine.

Thanks,
Brian

2000-06-05 Thread Stefan van der Eijk

 Anyone with similar problem?

Yup... but I'm on an alpha (things are just *strange* on those boxen
sometimes). My address book is just _blank_. Even after I move .netscape
to .netscape2 (and let netscape make a new .netscape) the address book
is non-functional. I can't add anything to it, etc. etc.

Can someone with an alpha reproduce this?

Stefan

The 128 bit version is not yet available. :o(

Does anyone know if the file name loss on directory changes still
happens? That's one of the goofiest things I think I've ever seen.

Great news I need it :), what about samba-2.0.7

btw, what you are you doing logging in as root ? :)

I'm waiting to finish those damn 850MB download then I'll toast this
partition and try to install the May 5 beta, don't change it in the next
3 hrs, plizzz :).
Then this partition will be toated and reloaded but untill then I just
enjoy the dangerous side and and wait for a friend that told me that
he'll send me a netscapized version of the ILOVEYOU virus that will fry
Linux computers also and I promise him full help ( logging as root
enabled java and javascript in mail, etc.) !!!

Well I bite the bullet and install it by hand, (this post is made with
4.73):

- the cretinoid thing of loosing file name on changing directory in the
save dialog is still there :(((
- the next in line idiocy of not having the focus in the URL input box
after opening a new navigator window is still there also :(

As a matter of fact, I don't see nothing visibile at user interface
level over 4.72, maybe there is something new about security and ever
crashing Java.
