Re: [Cooker] Netscape crash

2000-04-15 Thread OS

My Netscape does crash ! It doesn't get blown away, but it freezes solid. I call
an app. that has just turned into desktop wallpaper a crash ! :)

I use the arial font.

Everything seems to be fine up to a point. That point is some time after the
applet of the band above a rippling pond effect starts to run. This time
period maybe immediate or after a few seconds. But Netscape ALWAYS freezes
solid, and has done for a number of versions now.

A number of people have said that their Netscape loads this site with no problem
at all, so I downloaded all the latest 'compat' libraries and tried again, but
it still freezes. Is there anything else that may be out of date ? The Red Hat
version does it, as does the gzip version from Netscape themselves. Could it be
some kind of system setup issue ?!?!?!

Thanks,
Owen

I don't think it's a javascript problem, rather a java applet problem.

If you visit the site the picture of the band above a rippling pond effect is
an applet. It is not until it starts to run this applet that it crashes. It
maybe bad applet programming but neither Netscape on Window$ or IE crash on the
same site,

There is only "400 Bad Request" on this site (and Netscape doesn't
crash).

Just for information, what font do you use?

[Cooker] Netscape crash

2000-04-14 Thread OS

Hello,

I have just installed Netscape 4.72-8mdk and whatever DHTML or javascript or
..etc. etc. is on www.j-tull.co.uk it still manages to crash Netscape !

For me Netscape doesn't crash at all, yes really ! But then the above web site
is probably the most taxing I give it. I tend to test with fox.com, disney.com
and j-tull.co.uk !
