I've just upgraded an ASUS A7V133 system with MandrakeFreq #2 and the
2.4.5-5mdk kernel does NOT LIKE the system. It suffers from (I think)
the via chipset IDE hang. It runs perfectly on 2.4.3-8mdk which was the
last cooker update I did on it (it's on a remote modem, so it's painful
to keep it up to date :-( ). The system simply freezes with 2.4.5-5mdk
with the ide busy light hard on. I have beaten it pretty hard with the
2.4.3-8mdk kernel and it never misses a beat.

Also on the MandrakeFreq upgrade:
1. It re-wrote my /etc/fstab - yuk
2. It did not run the update-menus script.

The consequence of 2 is that kde apps failled miserably (I use GNOME
desktop) when invoked. I fixed it by re-building the system menus from
the control centre.

It also seems that evolution-0.10 crashes **very** frequently on imap
mail boxes :-(

/Kevin
