This is a possibility. ati.2 should be built with the XFree86 RPM and then the ati.2 bits saved and put into a separate binary RPM. That's going to be quite a narrow set of supported hardware. And hey, it's not like a Radeon card is friggin' expensive either. They can be had for less than CAN$100; that's about US$60.
