You know the problems, freeswan is not exportable i can't do a kernel
from here(US) and export to another countrib.
Actually I think technically, under the new US export regs, it is
exportable. I belive the Mozilla crew are already going ahead and
putting crypto back into Mozilla under the new regs.
Besides which, why not have it built it outside the US and bring the
exportable parts (all but the freeswan package/ipsec.o module) back in
for distro on the Mandrake mirrors? Those procedures must already be
getting done with the crypto site offshore anyway right?
Or have switches in the spec file to build the "freeswan" package
(including kernel module ipsec.o) or not. The in US builder -- you can
turn the switch off to not make a freeswan package, and somebody
offshore in charge of doing the crypto can build with freeswan and only
post the resulting freeswan package on the crypto site.
In any case, it would be nice to have it in the spec file, even if one
did have to go retrieve the package from freeswan.org and put it into
SOURCES himself, just so making it build is easier. Better than having
to patch the spec file every time a new kernel comes out methinks.
