Don't know if any of you are still having this problem but as of the latest cooker (including kernel update to 2.4.17-12) I still have no sound with my Sound Blaster. On KDE startup I am still getting: device /dev/dsp can't be opened (device or resource busy) The sound server will continue, using the null output device sndconfig comes up with a variety of errors when different SB drivers are attempted. My sound has been dead since I installed 8.2 beta. Regards, Jason
