[Cooker] Ulysses install bug
Greetings, I don't subscribe to the Cooker list, so just in case this has not already been reported: Creating CD's from ISOs for 7.2 Beta 3, and booting from CD, on a USB-only system (no PS2 keyboard/mouse), USB appears to be ignored and you cannot continue from the first graphical screen (no mouse or keyboard recognition) 7.1 installs fine, recognizes and uses the USB keyboard/mouse and works great. Good luck Doug [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Submitted 08-Sep-00 by Chris Burkhart: Unrelated question. Anyone happen to be running Mandrake on a laptop with a 'Yamaha Legacy' sound device? I have been unable to get this working so far. I was also unable to get the OSS/Free drivers for Yamaha PCI cards (aka Yamaha Legacy) drivers to work, but ALSA works beautifully. The sound quality from most ALSA drivers is better than you get with either the kernel or commercial OSS drivers. -- Anton GrahamGPG ID: 0x18F78541 [EMAIL PROTECTED] RSA key available upon request Authors are easy to get on with -- if you're fond of children. -- Michael Joseph, "Observer"
RE: [Cooker] Ulysses install
I actually had the first problem with Mandrake 7.1. I was forced to skip that section and manually set the IP settings after it was installed. The PCMCIA net drivers aren't included in that list anywhere. Unrelated question. Anyone happen to be running Mandrake on a laptop with a 'Yamaha Legacy' sound device? I have been unable to get this working so far. Thanks! Some observations: 1) I said yes to the install LAN question. But then, I can't select the pcmcia network card from the list. By the way, the network driver has already been loaded earlier by the pcmcia detection. Don't know how to setup IP address, though. 2) Then, I said I want a printer and selected lpd remote printer. That caused the installation to completely hang. CPU usage was 100% but nothing happend. Perhaps some problem with network printers when there is no network available? Jan

I think it will be fixed in the second beta which appears this weekend. Till
