Of course, but if "ease of use", also in the media playing department, is
a priority for Mandrakesoft, then they should think hard about putting
totem in main. And don't forget all the club votes either.

They are, in PowerPack and ProSuite.

Not everything can go in main :-(.

And since urpmi.setup is now in main, people have no excuse for not
knowing about contrib.

totem is not a skin, it's an application based on the xine libs. Also
I think the users should decide what they want to set as default.

No. And even if they would, it would be nice to have totem used as a
DEFAULT-skin in Mandrake.

Well, that is very nice, I wasn't aware of that. But that doesn't mean
much if contrib packages aren't shipped with the distro (or are they?).

I don't know. Sinek is still based on the old libxine0, while totem
uses libxine 1beta4.

Hi,

I couldn't agree more. If someone wants to use xine instead of
MPlayer, totem is the best choice as a frontend. The original skinned
UI is really unintuitive while totem is easy to use. If there wouldn't
be the typical crashes caused by xine-lib it would be a perfect player.

[Cooker] Xine frontend

I believe the inclusion of such a (GNOME HIG compliant) frontend for Xine
would really add quality to the distro.
