[Cooker] beta4 problems
Hi, Have just done a clean install of beta4, and then updated all packages to reflect the local cooker mirror. I have come across some problems that did not occur with beta 3. 1. The first one involves supermount and my scsi burner. If I insert a cd in the burner, and try to cd /mnt/cdrom3 I get the error: bash: cd: cdrom3: Input/output error This problem was not present in beta3 - the burner worked perfectly. 2. Monumental problems with locales/languages and fonts. When I start kde control panel| personalisation| country and languages the defaults are set to:country:united kingdom (gb) language: default (c) charset:iso8859-15 I then change the country setting to Australia, and it automatically changes the langauge to English en en_GB and the charset remains at 8859-15. I click apply, close down control centre, start control centre again and all my changes are gone - its reverted back to the defaults. Same happens if I click apply and logout and then in. All settings gone. Additionally, if I change any settings in the numbers, money, time and dates tabs, then the country, language and charset settings revert back to the defaults. 3. Font problems When kde started up for the first time it was using the helvitica font as the general font, but a really huge size. When I go to change the general font, I click on choose and get a drop down box with a list of lots and lots of fonts, including the adobe fonts, and a couple called mdk-xxx I chose the font adobe-helvitica 11 point, clicked ok and then clicked apply in control panel. BANG.. all the fonts are suddently changed to something completely different (AD MONO and Adventure I think). If I try to change them back, then the list of fonts has reduced to few very, all the adobe and mdk-xxx fonts are gone. I have left the AA setting to on. Hope this is useful to someone, please ask for more info if needed H

Re: [Cooker] beta4 problems
Pixel, Happy to provide more info if you tell me what to provide. :-) Maybe this is the wrong philosophy, but I'd rather attach what you need after you tell me what it is you need, than attach what I think you need, and end up creating an email 4 times longer than what it needs to be, and having you pissed off at having to plough through all the crap I attached! I can provide screen shots of whats happening regarding the locales/languages and fonts problem... if you want ;-) Thanks! Hamster [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: 1.
