This would not have happened if sweden opted for the euro, maybe?
(en_GB - latin15, sv - latin1; they are different, opt for
utf8).

[Cooker] hd.img installation of 9.2

I did a rsync against my mirror to change my old cooker image to a 
9.2-fivestar.
VERSION:
Mandrake Linux 9.2-FiveStar-i586 20030929 19:45

I did a Swedish install with 'advanced' added as English-GB -
mc is pure shit in CLI.

Zeroconf gives me a nice name as 'localhost'.

sndconfig does can't find the Linus wav file so had to add, to get sound;
In /etc/devfsd.conf I opened:
...
# ALSA stuff
LOOKUP  snd MODLOAD ACTION snd
...

In /etc/modules.conf I added:
...
alias sound-slot-0 sb
above sb snd-pnp
...

I used mcc to get access and installation of my update mirror. and so that 
openssl was to be uodated.
but used urpmi to do the job:
urpmi.update -a  urpmi --wget --auto-select --auto this gave an astonishing 
install in /var/cash like:

That made your install default to UTF-8, 
and since mc is not capable of handling UTF-8 correctly,
it will look weird... (the UTF-8 support is under development...)

now, as a workaround... start it with: LC_ALL=C mc
and it's usable again...

 Zeroconf gives me a nice name as 'localhost'.
