But where can I find this information ? Is there other instructions allowed ? It would be useful to have some comments in the file /etc/sysconfig/network or a link to /usr/share/doc/ or for example in another file such as /etc/sysconfig/network.samples -- Pierre Jarillon - http://pjarillon.free.fr/ Vice-président de l'ABUL : http://abul.org/

If /etc/resolv.conf is being overwritten, the only guess I have is that you have DHCP in action. Part of DHCP is that it sets information about nameservers. So if you want to disable /etc/resolv.conf from being overwritten by the dhclient, check your dhcp configuration (have none here, so can't help you further). To disable dynamique DNS attribution via DHCP, put PEERDNS=no in /etc/sysconfig/network

[Cooker] how to set up DNS (client)
Hello, the DNS of my gateway doesnt work reliable so I put additional nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf. The problem is: /etc/resolv.conf gets rewritten every time. Is there a better place to add additional name servers? TIA and Regards, Helge
