Yep,
I noticed you were working on that, thanks.
Unfortunately, I have a very slow connection here. I am not sure I will be
able to test that before Monday.

Still the same with 2.4.3-5mdk

My machine at home did not manage to boot with the fb either. This one
stopped at the setting system font line. Its graphic card is an ATI 3D
Rage pro. 2 diffeent machines, I can't believe I am the only one having
problems. The only thing I can think of is that I use lat0-10 as system font.

Strange, i have tested a lot of configuration here without problems
what is your video mode ? can you try with the kernel-smp to boot in
frame buffer (since the logo is not there).

I thought you wanted the fb settings.

When I boot with the fb, it says "Console: colour dummy device 80x25", and
when I boot in console mode "Console: colour VGA+ 80x60"

Is that what you need? If not, just tell me where I can find the info
you're looking for.

[Cooker] kernel-2.4.3-4mdk panics with fb

2001-04-04 Thread Quel Qun

Hi,

If I try to boot (w/ grub):

kernel (hd0,4)/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.3-4mdk root=/dev/hda5 hdd=ide-scsi vga=6

everything works fine, but with:

kernel (hd0,4)/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.3-4mdk root=/dev/hda5 hdd=ide-scsi vga=795

I got the welcome image and the kernel panics very quickly.

It boots fine with 2.4.3-3mdk

You broke it, Chmou, or did I miss anything?
