Why would one edit mtab ?
mtab reflects the current status of mounted device ... nobody
should edit it... fstab is the one you want to edit, not mtab.

probabely the best thing a user of mdk70 can do is to immediately after
installing, make a copy of the mtab (and maybe fstab) and rename them as
"/etc/mtab-working" and "/etc/fstab-working" or use "-orig". it's the only
thing saving my butt from "trashing" my o/s. do know mdk uses the "~" to
backup, but doesn't help if one makes more than 1 save.
wew! after an hour i finally got back into my mdk70 and exhausted too!
yes, the zipslack works nicely as an option to the ls120 drive and is much
quicker if booted from harddrive.
seems like one really shouldn't use linuxconf when editing the mtab file?

@#$@#$!@#% ... iknew that. i just wanted to meditate over my linux-mdk box
for 12 (or more) constant hours! funny tho' (as most will understand that your
bound to forget one or two stupid things), the word "mtab" is no where listed in
any of my 3 books. no wonder i forgot! hopefully i wont forget this again.
(sigh.)
but on another note, the linuxconf does make a mess out of those 2 if your
working with mdk 7.0. (can't include an ex. - forgot why but i thinks it's
pretty well already "known")
still babled over trying to get this ls120 working on the 7.0 iso-2!
