Try running "fuser -v -n tcp 1024" and it shall give you the process
that has opened it.

[Cooker] tcp port

2000-02-07 Thread Antoine Duval

hi,
I've installed the mandrake 7.0 without problem, but I've a question :
What is this service on port 1024 (SECURE_LEVEL=3) ?

$ nmap localhost
Starting nmap V. 2.12 by Fyodor ([EMAIL PROTECTED], www.insecure.org/nmap/)
Interesting ports on localhost.localdomain (127.0.0.1):
PortState   Protocol  Service
21  opentcpftp
23  opentcptelnet
80  opentcphttp
111 opentcpsunrpc
515 opentcpprinter
1024opentcpunknown
6000opentcpX11

Nmap run completed -- 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 0 seconds
