If I run the install CD's off my secondary CD-ROM then the install works perfectly. Weird though... Can you help us troubleshoot this problem by retrying with your DVD driver, switch ton console #4 (Alt-F4) and tell us the problems/failures you see reported by the kernel? Thanks! -- Guillaume Cottenceau - http://people.mandrakesoft.com/~gc/
Re: [Cooker] Problem installing 9.0 rc1
Could not uncompress second stage ramdisk. This is probably a hardware error while reading the data. (This may be caused by a hardware failure or a linux kernel bug) Is this using a DVD drive by chance? I've had the same problems (albeit with 8.x) while using my DVD drive. The solution was for me to restart installation on my secondary (cdrw) drive. I'm not sure if that will help or not, but it might. Another thing to do: make SURE your cd rom is supported (it should be, most basic cdroms are)
