I haven't said GNOME users can't change their colors.. They can, through
theme but there is no UI for that ATM.

I think you are completely missing my point : a theme for a specific
toolkit MUST be desktop (and other toolkits) agnostic.. If you need to
patch your theme to read another toolkit settings, this mean something
is broken elsewhere.. You are fixing the consequences of the bug, not
the bug itself..

Probably because nobody has coded it yet or felt the necessity of doing
it..

No, they are from a toolkit (here GTK) perspective.. GTK is not
depending on GNOME, it should not depend on KDE nor QT.. (And I'm sure
KDE folks things the same way about QT and GTK..)
