It works, and after I can launch printerdrake and it's going to set
OO/SO.
I made a mistake in the ppd filename

Make sure to restart cups after you copy the file over in order to pick up
the change. Killall cupsd -HUP

Hmm, I am sure it worked before, but it does work in the CUPS web
interface (if you just place a ppd file in /usr/share/cups/model

Not working.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] model]# ls -l /usr/share/cups/model/KN*
-r-xr-xr-x1 root root 155452 oct 1 19:23
/usr/share/cups/model/KN7830u1.ppd*
[EMAIL PROTECTED] model]# /usr/sbin/lpadmin -p Konica_test -E -v
socket://192.168.1.40 -m KN783Du1.ppd
lpadmin: add-printer (set model) failed: server-error-internal-error

I'd rather directly hack the database where printerdrake take its
printers list and associated drivers ...

Drop the ppd file in /usr/share/cups/models, then you should be able to
select it (maybe CUPS should have an "import ppd file" option that runs
cupstestppd on it and copies it if it is valid?)

Unfortunately, I don't think you can configure a custom device (as you
can with the CUPS web interface), so virtual printers (like fax4CUPS
etc) can't be configured with printerdrake.
