What is the proper way (I made a link from X -- XFree86)? startx ? He, he, no. startx will usually run "X" which usually is a link to "Xwrapper" or the X server for your card. My question was, what is the official way to call the X server ("XFree86" for XF4) in XF4. The current packages have a link from "/usr/X11R6/bin/X -- /usr/X11R6/bin/Xwrapper", and I made a link from /etc/X11/X -- /usr/X11R6/bin/X", but that does not work, since running Xwrapper does nothing. = Eugenio Diaz, BSEE/BSCE Linux Engineer [EMAIL PROTECTED] __ Do You Yahoo!? Are you sure your font server is running ? "/etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs restart" did not work, but "/etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs stop start" worked!
