I'm using a local cacheing dns now (djbdns), so I don't need bind. You can also delete /etc/named.conf and it won't start up (according to the code, but I've got the file and it's still not starting up for me). I could do that, once I'm sure of djbdns, but then I'd probably get various error messages during init, since some script must be starting it, so I'd rather search and destory that script. Why not start your Drakconf and click on system, then Services... then you turn ON or OFF whatever you want or do not want to start... easy! sk
