But the default bit level was set to 24, and this seems to be a (minor) bug, as i asked 32. thanks for reminding me that (silly) one. - during the cups configuration, the whole system froze for 30 seconds, and then an error message (from memory) : server not found. Is this a normal behaviour ? Moreover, i have no local printer, but want to use a remote lpd printer. Is there a way to configure cups to use the correct backend during installation ? don't know much, but as for the 30s timeout, it's the polling of external cups queues... till? - i also found a very little bug during partition setup. I made a mistake by asking the program to mount the ext2 partition where the 7.2beta archive was. As expected, an error occured. But i couldn't unmount the root partition after that, and had no solution than to reboot. yep, happened here to someone too yesterday, will try to fix. thanks, cu Pixel.

Well, it's a little bit strange and not very easy to explain. It's the first time i ever saw such a behaviour in expert mode. To explain it simply : sometimes when the popup window showing incomplete dependencies appeared, i had to click more than one time on the ok button to continue. The first time, the packages where (un)checked, and the other clicks had no visible effect. But it didn't affect the result : the installation went smoothly. Pascal

However the frame buffer itself might then be 24 or 32. If your video card supports both then in the "Depth 24" section you can put a parameter "DefaultFbBpp" set to 32. This is from the XF86Config man page. -- - Antony Suter ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) "Examiner" openpgp:71ADFC87 - "And how do you store the nuclear equivalent of the universal solvent?"

To quote the man page for XF86Config: `Note: some clients don´t behave well when this value is set to 24.´
