Oh, darn - we were both wrong, KDE_VERSION_STRING is what it's using and it's
in kapp.h! Heh.

hrm, no it's config.h...

[mosfet@localhost kdeui]$ cd ../kdecore
[mosfet@localhost kdecore]$ grep -i version kcontrol.h
grep: kcontrol.h: No such file or directory
[mosfet@localhost kdecore]$ cd ../kdeui/
[mosfet@localhost kdeui]$ grep -i version kcontrol.h
version 2 of the License, or (at your option) any later version.
[mosfet@localhost kdeui]$ cd ../../kdebase/
[mosfet@localhost kdebase]$ grep -i version config.h
/* Version number of package */
#define VERSION "1.1.2"
[mosfet@localhost kdebase]$

Actually, it's the configure that generates the version number, not the code
itself. We can update that but don't worry - it doesn't affect anything but the
version string.

This is a release problem, produced by the KDE Team.
They released their pre tar balls for testing 3 Weeks before they
released 1.1.2.
So only a few people were able to test the upcoming 1.1.2, but as
code was frozen by that time, bugs didn't get fixed.
E.g. kde 1.1.2 is broken with libc5 systems. It also can't be build
directly on Solaris systems. You always have to patch lots of files
to get it running.
So considder the Fact KDE identifies itself as 1.1.1 as much to minor
bug to be worth being fixed before 1.1.2 came out ;-)

Your system runs 1.1.2.

(don't wan't to know which much more serious bugs weren't fixed also ...)

maybe it's not been updated in kcontrolcenter - it's _really_ KDE
1.1.2 ;)
