Thanks for the explanation. I found Bastille added an entry in /etc/syslog.conf adding logging to tty7 and tty8, whereas i usually use msec to do this. I can confirm that with my last Update of cooker, my behavior is exactly the same as yours. It was unexpected for me as well.
