How about this one: add a minicommander applet to your panel. Remove
the applet. I always get a core file from bonobo-activ* after the
removal operation in my home.

Me too.

I thing the cores appear when I log out and the panel is closed, so the apps
are getting deactivated/closed/removed/whatever...

I have the same problem: logging out always adds 4 core dumps from
bonobo-activation to my home dir. This must be caused by some of my
GNOME settings (maybe panel applets?), because the cores didn't appear
in a newly created test account.

My plan for tonight is to build bonobo-activation with debugging
symbols and to check the backtraces.
