no, actually drakx says that experimental 3d hardware acceleration
support available with xfree 3.2.6
when installing 8.2, so the support would have been partially there back
then.

it isan ancient card, and even with current drivers updating it there
are a few problems. ( tested it recently under windows with newest
drivers from sis )

I presume you meant 4.2.0; the SiS chipset sucks - they cut too many corners -
consequently the drivers are difficult to make work reliably. With the
original 6326 cards I could line up four machines with four identical 6326
cards and get four different levels of functionality from
everything-in-software through maybe everything-but-cursor in software and

I also have such a sound board in my PC (that I'm going to replace
soon). I didn't mind to configure it manually. It's not worth to
implement this in the installer.

Why? And why only for the printer share and not the other 200 useful
samba options .

Have you done:

# smbpasswd -a

where is an existing unix user account on the samba box, that
with win9x or winme as a client matches the name you are logged into
windows as?

Funny, since default config is supposed to allow guest printing (except
to the PDF generator), but we might need to use something like 'map to
guest = bad user' to get *this* (guest access) working out the box.

Of course, this now starts to become a support question rather than a
feature request (unless people want 'map to guest = bad user' by default).

Is this "Cooker" or not? It should start preparing the next MDK release!
For me it's obvious that cooker should contain these as soon as it is
unfrozen:

glibc 2.3
QT 3.1
KDE 3.1 Beta2 (looks great and quite stable for me)
Font Config + Xft2 (like Redhat - looks great)
Kernel 2.4.20

In a (the only) windows box in the lan, it says that I
haven't permission to see printers / shares of the Mdk
computer.
Samba server was not "installed at install", I installed
it after by urpmi.
An option could enable / disable the share -> it's
better, no ?

What for? This should work out the box (since about 7.2!). Default samba
config should share out any printer CUPS on the same machine as the
samba server knows about (whether local or remote CUPS), and the homes
share.

We even have print driver updloads (at least for
winnt/win2kpro/winxppro) working *mostly* out the box (just set your
print admin group in smb.conf and reload), and a PDF generator which
should work out the box.

Have you even tried browsing the machine in network neighborhood?
