Easy fix:
# urpme gnorpm

Either that, or a better search of the archives:

http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/buglist.cgi?short_desc_type=allwordssubstr&short_desc=&product=gnorpm&long_desc_type=substring&long_desc=&bug_file_loc_type=allwordssubstr&bug_file_loc=&bug_status=UNCONFIRMED&bug_status=NEW&bug_status=ASSIGNED&bug_status=REOPENED&bug_status=RESOLVED&bug_status=VERIFIED&bug_status=CLOSED&bug_status=NEEDINFO&emailassigned_to1=1&emailtype1=substring&email1=&emailassigned_to2=1&emailreporter2=1&emailcc2=1&emailtype2=substring&email2=&bugidtype=include&bug_id=&votes=&changedin=&chfieldfrom=&chfieldto=Now&chfieldvalue=&cmdtype=doit&order=Reuse+same+sort+as+last+time&field0-0-0=noop&type0-0-0=noop&value0-0-0=
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4105
http://archives.mandrakelinux.com/cgi-bin/s.cgi?q=gnorpm&cs=

Maybe it would be nice if bugzilla's default search would look in
unconfirmed bugs, unless we are looking forward to having lots of
unconfirmed obsolete bug reports in the next beta cycle ...

Buchan

you're right it was missing, but now it's back in, maybe you would ike to
download a cooker package to give it a testdrive for the while.

he was removed since he didn't get the software quality we request for
a distribution.

That is indeed a problem with gnorpm not being in sync with latest rpmlib
changes.

Thanks for the reply but,
1. gnorpm should be usable by anyone (at least for query),
2. I have the same problem when I run it as root,
3. Made me notice that gsu does not work either (does not recognize the root
password, version 0.9-5mdk).
