Re: [Cooker] imwheel problems

Yes, that's true but am I the only one that using the scroll button as double
click doesn't work for?  I think this feature has not worked even since ML
8.1.

Is that correct?

Cheers,

Jason

Hello,I've been having problems with imwheel for the last coupleof weeks. It would stop working unexpectedly, even thoughthe process is still running. Then I have to kill and restart it.

 Uninstall it.It is not needed, support for wheel is now built into most apps and WMS. Charles

Thanks for the reply.

I already have an app-defaults file that I use with Netscape that I
got
from pclinuxonline that uses the scroll mouse but I like your way
better
because I can adjust the scroll rate ;)

Thanks again, I'll give it a try.

The important thing is, though, what should be in Mandrake 8.0 by
default?
I still believe imwheel stuffs up more than it fixes.

Con.

Sorry, replying to myself here

I tried your adjustment and it didn't work but I simply made the
changes in the app-defaults file and it's now even better with a 15
line scroll (I guess netscape lines are small!)

Thanks again.

Hello,

Try adding the following to $HOME/.Xdefaults

!## NETSCAPE
Netscape*drawingArea.translations:  #replace\

:   ArmLink()   \n\
~Shift:   ActivateLink()  \n\

   ,: xfeDoPopup()\n\
: ActivatePopup() \n\
Ctrl: PageUp()\n\
Ctrl: PageDown()\n\
Shift: LineUp()\n\
Shift: LineDown()\n\
 None: LineUp()LineUp()LineUp()LineUp()LineUp()LineUp()\n\
 None:
LineDown()LineDown()LineDown()LineDown()LineDown()LineDown()\n\
Alt: xfeDoCommand(forward)\n\
Alt: xfeDoCommand(back)\n

Netscape*globalNonTextTranslations: #override\n\
 Shift: LineUp()\n\
 Shift: LineDown()\n\
 None:LineUp()LineUp()LineUp()LineUp()LineUp()LineUp()\n\
 None:LineDown()LineDown()LineDown()LineDown()LineDown()LineDown()\n
\
 Alt: xfeDoCommand(forward)\n\
 Alt: xfeDoCommand(back)\n

I hope kmail hasn't truncated the lines !!!

It's a very long time since I did any of this ! I think this is what you
need and don't use imwheel, but then again I am probably completely wrong !!!
 :-) As you can see button 5 will scroll down 6 lines and button 4 up 6 lines
(just add / remove more LineUp()'s or LineDown()'s). You will also see that
the right button does a 'Back' command, while the right button with mouse
movement now brings up the pop-up menu, so don't get confused !!!

As far is imwheel is concerned it is possible to edit $HOME/imwheelrc and
tell imwheel to ignore certain applications. I've done it for gtop, but have
no idea of the command structure for Netscape.

Hope this helps,
Owen
