Basically, there is no relevant documentation.

Three main reasons:

- is meant to be used by experts
- changes
- it's not very hard to guess how to use them

The current hd.img gives you the option to install from an iso image
and has done for months.  I don't know whether it properly handles
install from 2 or 3 iso images.

This was done at my suggestion, BTW.
