No I get this problem with my system. I just installed mandrake freq 
with kernel 2.4.5-5mdk. 

On the upside for the first time my logitech trackball worked during 
install without messing up the installer durring wheelmouse detection. 
On the downside again wheelmouse seems to be buggy under x.  kde works 
well but it doesn't work with gnome apps most of the time and kmail 
works but it works differently.
