Re: [Cooker] libsafe and msec
cde [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: Hello I got some problem with libsafe and msec on Mandrake 7.2 msec put /lib/libsafe.1.3 in /etc/ld.so.preload and when i rebuild some package the rpm dependancy ask for libsafe.1.3 but libsafe rpm only provide libsafe.1 !!! The solution is to put /lib/libsafe.1 in /etc/ld.so.preload in msec and rebuild my package The other problem is that this library is *not required* but packages built on a machine with this library require it and cannot be installed on server without it ... libsafe isn't required by any package, that's a standalone library which is eventually preloaded before a program start using LD_PRELOAD, and no other way... nothing is linked to libsafe. -- -- Yoann http://www.mandrakesoft.com/~yoann/ An engineer from NVidia, while asking him to release cards specs said : "Actually, we do write our drivers without documentation."

When you rebuild a package and libsafe is installed it seems that the rpm dependancy routine include libsafe in the dependancy ... I ve some rpm that requires libsafe now.. (which is not required as you say) I think it's a dependancy problem in rpm not a link problem -- Cyril DEBLE System Manager Direct : 01.53.98.88.01 - Fax : 01.53.01.29.29 - Cell : 06.13.20.21.31 MEDIATRIS S.A. au capital de 1.876.515 euros - RCS PARIS B 422 928 853 [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Mediatris SA (FRANCE) 59 bd Valin 75015 Paris Tel +33.1.53.98.88.07 Fax +33.1.53.01.29.19 [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Mediatris USA LLC (USA) 245 Park Avenue NY 10167 USA Tel +1 212 372 8793 Fax +1 212 504 2747 [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Mediatris SL (ESPAGNE) Viriato 62 28010 Madrid Tel +34.91.594.18.43 Fax +34.91.594.18.43
