I saved the homepage of cnn, by the way, the small icon - usually red cnn - was changed to that of Netscape, saved it to the root of user. Tried to copy and link to the desktop Konqueror and was denied. regards guran

And moving a file from your home directory to the desktop (using Konq as a file manager) works as well? Is it copied to ~/Desktop? If it is... either it's been fixed since yesterday or somehow we get different installs. Regards, Mattias

I have just installed a new Cooker, and from Konqueror, as user, on cnn homepage I clicked on the netscape adverticement and dragged it to the desktop and made a link and icon to that site. regards guran -- Mandrake Linux beta Cooker kernel-2.4.8-22 vers:1.578

Because this _used_ to work in Cooker (dragging from the panel and the kmenu to the desktop, as a user) but didn't yesterday. Maybe the KDE guys at MandrakeSoft can change this back? Preferably in time for 8.1. Regards, Mattias
